Ivo Andrić, the Serbian Nobel Prize winner, died on March 13, 1975, in Belgrade.
Andrić was a diplomat and a novelist. He won the Nobel Prize for The Bridge on the Drina in 1961. His other significant works include The Chronicle of Travnik, The Damned Yard and Omer-Pasha Latas.
